Partnership Brief · For CrossCurrent Brokers

The angler nation deserves a complete portfolio. Let's build it together.

With the mutual NDA signed, we're ready to start building. Matterhorn will sit behind CrossCurrent as the invisible MGA / MGU and co-broker partner — building product, capacity, and technology around your angler-vertical relationships. Below is the playbook, the tools, the IC plan, the event-circuit move, and the AnchorPoint tie-in.

Next step: a 30-minute working session to walk this page together, align on the first rollout sprint, and decide how we shape the broker agreement around it.

01 · Invisible MGA / MGU

We build the product. You own the relationship.

Matterhorn sits behind your brand as the MGA/MGU. Carriers, capacity, and product design happen on our side — every quote, certificate, and bind document carries CrossCurrent in front of the client.

02 · Co-Broker Channel

Matterhorn-direct clients placed through CrossCurrent.

When an angler-vertical lead lands with Matterhorn directly, we don't take it solo. We loop CrossCurrent in as the co-broker on record — split, attribution, and renewal commitment defined up front.

03 · US + Canada Portfolio

A complete angler portfolio across both borders.

Guides, outfitters, instructors, lodges, tournament circuits, manufacturers, retailers, ambassadors, and the angler ICs themselves — placed through one program architecture that travels US ↔ Canada.

01 · The Operating Model

A partnership — not an MGA / broker handoff. real economics.

Four operating tenets that govern how Matterhorn and CrossCurrent show up in the market together. Written down, agreed, defended in renewal cycles.

01

Co-Brand The Pipeline

CrossCurrent stays in front of the angler. Matterhorn quietly drives product design, carrier sourcing, and the back-office that turns a submission into a bound policy.

02

Shared Tech Stack

Matterhorn provides the Proposal Generator, Application Generator, and gap-analysis engine. CrossCurrent uses them under your brand or ours — your call, no licensing fee.

03

Capacity As A Service

We bring the carrier conversations: existing Sports & Rec, Outdoor, Occ Acc, and Liability markets that already trust Matterhorn paper. You don't have to chase appetite.

04

Renewal-First Economics

Commission splits, BOR protections, and renewal ownership defined in writing on day one — so the partnership is durable, not transactional.

02 · Technology — Yours To Test

04 · Occ Acc + GL · The IC Build

The angler IC space is unbuilt. Let's build it.

Guides, outfitters, instructors, and tournament staff are the connective tissue of the angler economy — and the most-uncovered segment. Matterhorn is structuring a purpose-built Occ Acc + GL program around the IC, tracked daily by the dashboard.

Guides

Fly + spin, fresh + saltwater, US + Canada. Day-trip and multi-day. The bulk of the IC population.

Outfitters

Operators running guide teams under one brand. Need GL + Occ Acc on the entity AND on the IC roster.

Instructors / Schools

Casting schools, fly-tying clinics, kid-and-family programs. Often missing participant legal liability.

Tournament Staff

Directors, weigh-in officials, boat captains, dock crew — short-burst but high-frequency exposure.

Underwriting Question Bank · Angler IC Space

Review with CrossCurrent before we go to carrier.

These are the questions we plan to put in front of carriers when we market Occ Acc to the Matterhorn carrier panel. Let's pressure-test them together — your angler expertise will sharpen the question bank before any submission goes out.

  • 1Total IC headcount across guides / instructors / tournament staff (US vs Canada split).
  • 2Average days worked per IC per season. Peak-week max.
  • 3% of ICs working under a written contract vs verbal arrangement.
  • 4Are ICs required to carry their own GL? Limit? Named-insured status?
  • 5Does the outfitter sponsor or arrange the ICs' training / certification?
Shuttle Rider · Outfitters Program Add-On

Let's walk through the shuttle-rider endorsement together.

Most outfitters need a shuttle-rider election bolted on to their Occ Acc + GL. Book a 15-minute call and we'll walk through wording, election thresholds, carrier appetite, and the operational checklist together.

05 · Event Circuit · Immediate Opportunities

Tournaments and associations — placeable now. this season.

Matterhorn is sitting on a near-term pipeline of association-driven events and tournament classes. We need a co-broker who knows the angler community. Here is the four-phase placement plan.

Phase 01 · Triage

We pull the active event-circuit pipeline (associations, regional series, weekend tournaments). Rank by closing window, premium, ease of placement, renewal stickiness.

Phase 02 · Carrier Packets

Matterhorn produces a one-pager + ACORD packet per event class. CrossCurrent fronts as the broker on the submission email. We turn it around inside 5 business days.

Phase 03 · Bind & Onboard

Issue COIs, additional-insured endorsements, and the event-day operational packet (waivers, ECG protocol, weather call-off authority).

Phase 04 · Renewal Lock

Loop these tournament directors into the AnchorPoint network and the Occ Acc IC engine — so next season they renew with CrossCurrent + Matterhorn first.

In-Scope Event Classes
  • Association-sanctioned regional bass series
  • Walleye + multi-species circuits
  • Saltwater inshore + offshore tournament series
  • Fly-fishing competitive circuits (US + CA)
  • Charity / cause tournaments (single-day)
  • Youth & high-school angling leagues
  • Kayak & paddle-driven competitions
  • Ice-fishing derbies (winter circuit)

Working assumption: CrossCurrent fronts the broker relationship with the association / tournament director. Matterhorn handles carrier placement, COIs, additional-insured endorsements, and event-day operational packets.

06 · AnchorPoint · Ambassador-Led Marketing

Ambassadors meet a CrossCurrent quote. every touchpoint.

AnchorPoint is Matterhorn's ambassador-driven marketing engine for outdoor and angler verticals. The proposal: every ambassador touchpoint funnels to a CrossCurrent-branded quote form, with attribution and producer credit baked in.

Ambassador-Driven Reach

AnchorPoint is Matterhorn's ambassador-led marketing arm. Pro guides, captains, and influencers in the angler community route their networks toward the program.

Tied To A Quote, Not A Flyer

Every ambassador touchpoint funnels to a CrossCurrent-branded quote form. The ambassador gets attribution; CrossCurrent gets the producer credit; the angler gets a real number, fast.

Built-In Renewal Engine

Ambassadors keep their networks engaged year-round with safety content, gear features, and IC certification reminders — keeping renewal conversations warm before the renewal email is sent.

Open question for CrossCurrent

Do you want AnchorPoint ambassador leads tied directly into your quote-bind system, or do you prefer routing through the Matterhorn Application Generator first for triage? Either path works — let's decide together.

07 · Build Plan

NDA is signed. now we build the partnership.

With confidentiality squared away, the next step is a focused working session to align on how we partner — which slice we attack first, who owns what, and how the broker agreement gets shaped around the rollout. Bring questions. We’ll bring the live tools, the carrier conversations to date, and a draft sprint plan.

Step 130-min working session

Working Session Agenda

  • Walk this page together and capture reactions, gaps, and must-haves from the CrossCurrent side.
  • Pick the first slice — guides & outfitters, IC ambassadors, or event circuit — and scope a 60-day pilot.
  • Align on roles, attribution, and how Matterhorn shows up (or doesn’t) in front of your clients.
  • Agree on what the broker / partnership agreement needs to reflect before we exchange a draft.
Step 2Shaped after the session

Broker / Partnership Agreement

A template version of the broker agreement is here for early review — splits, BOR protections, renewal commitments, and the AnchorPoint attribution structure. We’ll redline it together after the working session so the final document reflects the rollout we actually agreed on. This is a partnership document, not a take-it-or-leave-it form.

Next Steps

Ready to build the angler portfolio — together?

Book a 30-minute working session. We'll walk through the live tools, the IC Occ Acc playbook, the event circuit pipeline, and the AnchorPoint tie-in — and leave with an agreed-on first sprint and a shape for the broker agreement.
